“There may be people that have more talent than you, but there is no excuse for anyone to work harder than you – I believe that.” – Derek Jeter

Get to know Jared!
Jared Klein, born and raised in Hewitt, Wisconsin, a small town right outside of Marshfield, Wisconsin, is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point going into his last year of education, majoring in Graphic Design. Towards the end of high school at Marshfield, Jared got the opportunity he wished for. He ended getting recruited by the staff for the UWSP Pointers baseball program, and the next year, he achieved his goal of playing for the Pointers. His freshman year went on being a pretty uneventful year, but learning a lot. But, before his freshman year, Jared endured a slight tear in his achilles that later on became the reason he had to hand up the cleats at the start of his sophomore year. After that, Jared realized that even though he couldn’t play the game he loved, he is still able to pass on the knowledge he received from his many mentors within the game itself. Jared now has experience coaching at the 8th grade level for local middle school, PJ Jacobs, as well as Junior Legion experience for the Stevens Point Sixers.

Our Services
Hitting Training
During his growth as a player, Jared has learned from people like Gary Varsho, former MLB Player for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs, and Jeremy Jirschele, head coach for UWSP Baseball, former MiLB Player, and college standout for UW-Oshkosh. Along with this learning period, Jared has attributed an extensive knowledge on the basics, intermediate, and advanced aspects of hitting, and hitting the baseball square and hard.
This hitting training, for a new player, is a great way to kick-start the learning process of the challenging mechanics and mental aspects of hitting. From staying inside the ball to making sure your bat is on the pitch plane and stays through the hitting zone as long as possible, Jared will assist in instructing via various drills, tee-work, soft-toss, live throwing, as well as video footage to make sure the player, and player’s family, know what to look for, how it should feel, and making sure everyone is on the same page with the development of the hitter’s mechanics and journey to becoming the best hitter they can be!
Catching Training
Catching is one of the toughest positions on the baseball field. The level of responsibility that the catcher has is very similar to the quarterback position within football. Think of the catcher as the Tom Brady of baseball. The catcher calls the game, directs the defense, and has to know what every single player has to do, and is capable of in every situation that could come about during a game.
Learning the catching position, and perfecting the mechanics and mental aspect of it, is one of the most challenging things a player can endure. While being able to learn from college players growing up, Jared learned a lot about both aspects of the catcher position. Through drills and repetition, Jared will be able to coach and develop the player into the ideal catcher they want to be. Whether it be a defensive specialist that is a brick wall behind the plate, or the shifty Yadier Molina-esque catcher that throws out runners at will, the player has the ability to learn the things that will set a base for the development they want!
